Pavel Filip: Elderly who have a lower pension than minimum subsistence level will receive pensions increased by 10%
From January 1, 2019, pensioners with a pension lower than the minimum subsistence level, 1,589 lei, will receive pensions increased by 10 percent. The statement was made by the Prime Minister Pavel Filip during the weekly Government meeting.
"Today, we have several important projects that will be examined. One that I want to highlight is the project to increase by 10% the pensions of those pensioners who have a lower pension than the minimum subsistence level.
The subsistence minimum for pensioners is 1589 lei, pensioners with a lower pension than this will have an increase of 10%, starting with January 1, 2019.
These are the fruits of our work so far, when we reformed the pension system. It was a reform that brought balance and equity to the pension system and removed an injustice from the system.
It is an increase in pensions, it is a real increase, so we do not blind about changes in the pension system. And this increase is due to the effects of the reforms we have implemented.
It's a beginning and I want everyone to understand a few things: It's a clean, clean up. Also as of 1 January 2019, they will have pension increases, the pension of those who worked after entering the system, 15 years will be recalculated.
From April 1, 2019, the indexation we make annually will be carried out according to the formula that is set", said Premier Pavel Filip.
