Pavel Filip explains new voting system
The new voting system is an equilibrated one, following the wishes of our citizens to have a better connection with the candidates and the need of an equilibrated representation. More than that, the document was edited skillfully in the most transparent and active method. The declaration was made by the Prime Minister Pavel Filip in the interview with IPN.
“The changes in the voting system was a justified one, due to the massive displeasure shown toward the political class and took advantage of the political debates both from our country and abroad. It was one of those laws that was edited skillfully in the most transparent and active method. Finally, it became an equilibrated law, which follows the wishes of our citizens to have a better connection with the candidates and the need of an equilibrated representation”, Pavel Filip said.
According to the official, the warranties are the same: a free and lawful election where every candidate and party has an equal chance to present their electoral campaign.
“The warranties we have to offer remain the same as last year: we will organize a free and lawful election, where every candidate and party will have a chance to present their electoral campaign. This new system is like the one used in Germany, one of the best democratic country on the continent”, Prime Minister declared.
Pavel Filip assures us that the new law took into consideration all recommendation of the Venice Commission.
“During the debates, we implemented all technical recommendations offered by the Venice Commission and interfered where it was necessary. I do not agree with those who wish to win election favors using a law, which I consider, lawful and well made. I can only wish that all this energy to be turned to the action of the Government and the Parliament, as I need the support of the opposition regarding the key topics of European integration”, Prime Minister Pavel Filip declared.
