Pavel Filip held meeting with NATO Parliamentary Meeting president: Moldova is a neuter country, but this doesn't mean we want to be isolated
Pavel Filip prime minister held a meeting with Rasa Jukneviciene, the President of NATO Parliamentary Meeting. The officials discussed about the security in the zone.
"The thing that our Constitution says that we, as a country are neuter, doesn't mean we want to be isolated. On the contrary, we want to cooperate with NATO, we want to learn, to train our soldiers and participate at common international exercises", said Pavel Filip.
At the same time, the prime-minister declared that we were obliged to become neuter, because of the conflict on Nistru.
"Unfortunately, the foreign troops didn't leave the territory of our country yet."
At her turn, Rasa Jukneviciene mentioned that the institution can provide our country the required experience and expertise to face the challenges in the security zone.
"NATO is not an alliance for war. It is a peace and democracy alliance", said the official.
Pavel Filip prime minister confirmed this and mentioned that the NATO projects in our country bring benefits.
NATO Parliamentary Meeting is an inter-parliamentary organization that gathers 29 member countries and 12 associated members.
The Republic of Moldova is an associated member of the NATO Parliamentary Meeting since November 1994.
