Pavel Filip held meeting with Valeriu Golubev, vice president of Gazprom

Today, Prime Minister Pavel Filip held a meeting with Deputy President of "Gazprom", Valeriu Golubev. The officials discussed about the assurance of the internal gas market, the transit, as well as the procedures for reorganization of JSC "Moldovagaz" imposed by the national legal framework and the commitments assumed.
The officials exchanged their opinions on the prospects for the development of cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the company "Gazprom". The leadership of the Russian concern assured that in 2019 Moldova's domestic market will be secured with the necessary volume of natural gas as previously agreed.
During the discussions, the issue was also discussed regarding the necessity of reorganization of "Moldovagaz" JSC, but also of the other natural gas distribution companies owned by the company, in accordance with the provisions of the Moldovan legislation, but also with the European directives, especially the III energy. The deadline for implementing the provisions is January 1, 2020.
Pavel Filip mentioned that the Government will provide the necessary support to restructure the sector in the established terms and create a competitive market in the field.
At the end of the meeting, Valeriu Golubev invited Prime Minister Pavel Filip to attend the anniversary ceremony of "Moldovagaz", which will mark 20 years of activity in 2019.
