Pavel Filip: Moldovans who decided to work after reaching retirement age will have bigger pensions
People who decide to work after reaching retirement age will have bigger pensions. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, during today's Government meeting.
According to the law, initially, pensions will be recalculated for people who retirement by 1999 and worked for more than 15 years before reaching retirement age.
"Some pensioners are driven by need to continue working, they paid the taxes, contributing therefore to the state budget. From the calculations I have seen, in 2019, over 2 500 people will have their pensions increased by more than double the average pension, while by 2020, the number of beneficiaries will reach over 5 500 people.
Later, recalculation will also be made for other categories.
According to Prime Minister, he does not wish to create illusions regarding the pension's recalculations: "We must not create illusions because I never declared that pensions increased. Everything must be made clear. Much was unfair in the formula used after 1999, nobody was receiving the pension in accordance with the money paid in the social fund and therefore the law was changed, then pensions were recalculated. I consider it normal to first bring this balance, later we will have a fair system."
The document foresees for beneficiaries to be able to request only once for their pension to be recalculated.
