Pavel Filip's congratulatory message on World Teacher's Day
Pavel Filip prime minister participated at the ceremony to congratulate teachers with the World Teacher's Day. The Prime Minister congratulated the teachers and said he appreciates their activity.
"I feel responsible to say that the work you do is priceless. Thank you for everything you do. I appreciate it very much. I think that all the changes in a country start from the educational system", said the prime minister.
Pavel Filip mentioned that education is a major priority and a new vision in the field of education is currently being developed: "The area of influence of the ideas of the new vision is wide: from the learning standards to the endowment of the educational institutions, to the modern ways of continuous teacher training to their proper remuneration. Because we know that investment in education is expensive, but the lack of it costs us even more expensive, as a society and as a country. "
The prime minister also said that "we need shared responsibility, commitment and trust from all the actors involved" to make further progress in this area and rethink the whole education system.
To support teachers, the Government has undertaken several actions. Even in yesterday's meeting, the Executive approved the increase of the allowances for young teachers from 45,000 lei to 120,000 lei in the first 3 years of their activity, and the granting of a compensation of 2000 lei per year to teachers and educators for teaching materials , clutch technique and professional development. Also, several high schools and about 900 kindergartens have been renovated in the country.
During the event, the winners of the national contest "Teacher of the Year" were awarded. Those who ranked first were got 50,000 lei, second place 25,000 lei and 3rd place 15,000 lei.
