PDM decided Government reshuffle and new proposals of Ministers: Silvia Radu and Nicolae Ciubuc
The Democratic Party has backed Prime Minister Pavel Filip's proposals on the reshuffle in the Cabinet of Ministers, aimed at increasing the efficiency of the Government and the Executive's work.
PDM leader Vlad Plahotniuc announced after the weekly meeting of the party that these changes are the result of evaluating the work of the ministers and the Prime Minister's proposals coincide with the areas where they want more efficiency and which they have reported citizens.
Areas subject to reshuffle are social and health, namely agriculture, the environment and regional development. According to Vlad Plahotniuc, the leaders of these ministries - Svetlana Cebotari and Liviu Volconovici - have done their job, which is why they have thanked them, but the analysis of the citizens shows that a more dynamic pace of modernization is needed in these institutions. The new proposal for the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment is Mr. Nicolae Ciubuc, and Mrs. Silvia Radu is nominated by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
The PDM chairman also announced that the Government's evaluation of the Government's activity does not end here, this process being continuous. "At the last reshuffle in the winter, I said very clearly that the ministers' evaluation will be made by the citizens, being the direct beneficiaries of the Government's activity. And the fact that we are a few months of elections does not mean that we do not have to make changes if that's what people ask. If that is the case, we will make changes even one month before the elections, because the Government needs to work as efficiently as possible", said Vlad Plahotniuc.
At the same time, another evaluation, this time of state secretaries of ministries, will be completed in the coming weeks. "At this level, in some areas, there are problems raised by ministers themselves, and serious discussions are needed, which will take place on the government platform",, added Vlad Plahotniuc.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip also thanked the ministers Svetlana Cebotari and Liviu Volconovici for their work and for the collaboration they had. The Head of the Executive said that the government team had good results, but the principle behind it is to look at things not in comparison with what it was, but in relation to the real growth potential.
Pavel Filip added that he proposed to Nicolae Ciubuc to take over the field of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment because he is a well-known of the problems in the field of agriculture and regional development, but also because he has proven management capacities in public institutions.
The prime minister also estimated that Silvia Radu's proposal for the leadership of the Ministry of Health will come with a more dynamic managerial approach, one that will bring new changes for the health services delivered to the population, but also to bring about a better balance in the social area.
Prime Minister Filip added that the assessment will continue at the level of state secretaries, saying he has discussions with ministers these days to see what deficiencies exist and to find the best solutions.
"I want the government to be less involved in the political struggle - that's why I have now insisted on these reshuffles. We have little time at our disposal and we must come in this short period with most of the elements that will ensure the implementation of reforms", concluded Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
The two proposals for reshuffle will be handed to President Igor Dodon today, in order to go through the necessary institutional procedures for the new ministers to start work.
