Almost one hundred youths from entire Moldova have joined the Democratic Party (PDM.) The new members informally discussed yesterday about the party’s priorities, the reforms and changes expected within society and within the political elite.
The discussion was joined by the PDM first deputy president, Vlad Plahotniuc.
"One of our intentions is to attract new people, especially youths. Why? You don’t have old prejudices, predispositions, inertia or knowledge existing within the political class up to now," Vlad Plahotniuc said.
Asked how the present government is going to change things in Moldova, Vlad Plahotniuc has talked about the need for a new attitude on behalf of politicians towards citizens, a more responsible one, to change the mistaken rules of the past with new correct ones.
"I consider Moldova has a chance now to go forward, if it uses it, if we have a determined political elite, without hesitations, without calculations as ‘popular-unpopular,’ with the necessary knowledge, with the necessary reforms," added Vlad Plahotniuc.
The new PDM members have found the current government has the will to promote the necessary reforms to go on the European course and have promised to get fully involved in such actions.
"I have come here for involvement, because we the young ones demand a better life, we want a clear, beautiful, colorful future. We must do something for that," said a young woman.
"Party membership means working for people, you must be able to be close to people, to understand them and to represent them," a young man said.
"I believe here I have backing and a future, with projects for the youths, for personal development, for my interests, my ideas," a girl said.
The youths have asked Vlad Plahotniuc many personal questions, about his youth, about starting his business, the criteria he chooses the people he works with and how often he does sport.
