PDM National Political Council puts off Party Extraordinary Congress till September
Members of the National Political Council of the PDM met Saturday in the meeting. Democrats have analyzed the social-political situation in the country after the Democratic Party ceded the government. Regretfully, it was found that the PSRM-PAS-PPDA alliance is concerned with the political subordination of institutions that need to be independent, populist, and have done nothing concrete for citizens. Moreover, they have suspended projects designed to improve people's living conditions, such as Good Roads, A New Life, A Doctor for You.
"People in the country see that the current government is already failing, and the citizens' problem are only rising," said PDM chairman Pavel Filip.
Another topic discussed in the meeting of the National Political Council was about the extraordinary congress of PDM convened on 27 July. Following the conferences made by the party's territorial organizations, it was concluded that the Democratic Party needs a more profound reorganization, a deeper modernization that needs to be thoroughly prepared, and this requires a longer period of time.
Moreover, it was discussed the need to attract personalities, specialists from different fields, who will share the values and visions of the Democrats for development of the Republic of Moldova, so that the citizen will be at the heart of the efforts of the Democrat Party politicians.
"The PDM needs a profound reform, a cleaning process, but also a reinforcement both in the territory and at the central level," said Pavel Filip.
Thus, the Congress is put off until September 7 and the Permanent Bureau is mandated to create a working group to prepare the Democratic Party's modernization project. Another mandate received by the Permanent Bureau is to launch PDM preparations for local elections, including the organization of electoral staff. In this respect, it was also mentioned the consolidation of local PDM teams and the identification of potential democratic candidates in the eligible positions.
