PDM reached Basarabeasca: We must care for orphans and elderly
Hundreds of elderly from the town of Basarabeasca live their lives alone without help from government or relatives. There is no asylum in the locality to take care of and feed them. The problem was notified by the people from the town at a rally with the Democrat MP Demian Caraseni.
"There are in Basarabeasca 3,500 retired, of whom 400 hundred are lonely elderly, and 1,600 are disabled. There are many orphan children. There no asylum for elderly, neither an orphanage in the town. What should they do?" a local asked.
"It’s a sensitive issue. We should take care of them. It’s the country’s leadership who’s responsible. It’s not by sympathy that we should help them out. It’s our duty," PDM legislator Demian Caraseni stated.
He assured the people the local authorities were going to identify the money to solve the problem. The deputy also met with the railway employees, who hadn’t got their salaries for 5 months.
"Any employee must be remunerated timely. I will inform myself on the arrears issue. I assure you I’ll try to have this problem solved," Demian Caraseni specified.
In another context, the locals showed themselves satisfied with the Government’s reforms in healthcare and foreign politics. The decreased prices of hundreds of drugs will be valid as of Wednesday.
