Pension recalculation ahead of schedule, due to the country's economic growth

Pensions will be recalculated fasted than expected. It will be possible this very autumn, two years earlier than foreseen. The declaration was made by Minister of Health, Labour and Social Protection, Svetlana Cebotari, who was last evening's special guest at Fabrika on Publika TV.
"The pensions were supposed to be recalculated by 2021, but by November 1 2018 we will practically finish two years earlier than foreseen, due to the country's economic growth" Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection explained.
"By the end of this year, around 300 000 elders will have their pensions recalculated and more will be done to those whose pensions were not recalculated, but are still working. At the moment we have 130 000 pensioners who continue to work and pay the taxes" vice-president of the Social Protection Committee, Valentina Stratan said.
The guests also spoke of the new methods meant to reduce unemployment in the country.
"In the near future will be forwarded a new project on employment, one that will correspond to the EU law, while on another hand a number of measures and innovative actions will be taken for Republic of Moldova. We wish to become closer to the unemployed and offer them more opportunities to develop professionally, including training" Minister Svetlana Cebotari declared.
Starting April 1 2018, over 500 000 elders had their pensions increased by 96 lei, the minimum pension reaching to 1 025 lei. Disability pensions also increased by 76 lei for 126 000 people. At the same time, Survivors Pension rose by 50 lei, reaching an average of 755 lei. While Chernobyl liquidators pension increased by 200 lei, reaching 3 040 lei.
