Pensions of retired people who work or worked after retirement will be re-examined
Persons who work or worked after retirement will be able to request re-examination of the pension starting with January 1, 2019, according to legislative amendments that were published today in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Moldova, wrote moldpres.md.
Thus, retired persons who activate or have worked in the workforce after the retirement pension entitlement can apply for a retirement pension only once, provided that the amount of the re-examined pension is higher than the amount of the retirement pension.
According to the provisions, from January 1, 2019, the pensions established before 1 January 1999 will be re-examined, with the contribution period after the right to retirement from 15 years. From 1 January 2020 - those established until 1 January 1999, with the post-paid contribution period up to 15 years. Subsequently, from January 1, 2021, the pensions established after 1 January 1999 until 1 January 2019 will be re-examined, with a post-retirement pension after 15 years of pension entitlement.
In the following years, the term of the post-pension contribution will decrease annually by three years.
The number of pensioners who would benefit from pension re-examination in 2019 is estimated at around 2,500 and spending over 84 million lei. The number of re-examined pensions and expenditures will reach 130 thousand in 2027 and 133 million lei as well.
