Pigs blocked in Albita custom post. What's the reason?
The representative of the National Agency for Safety of Food and sanitary- veterinary control of Romania say the economic agents weren't informed they should present a notification about pigs export, five days before to ANSA.
Moreover, the Romanian authorities say after emitting the act, the pigs were exported in our country without presenting anything and now they don't understand why did the pigs remained blocked at Albita custom post.
"The veterinary authorities from Romania didn't know about the normative act. I want to say that till December 5, 2017 the pigs were exported from Romania to Moldova many times", declared Oana Alexandra Negrila, general director of Animal Health.
On the other side, the chief of ANSA, Gheorghe Gaberi says the Romanian Government should have been informed about this, as long as the decision takes part from the Free Exchange agreement.
"Obviously, the Romanian Government should have been informed in time. They haven't respected those important rules and created this difficult situation", added Gheorghe Gaberi, the general director of ANSA.
The lot of other 180 pigs is blocked at the Albita custom post. The Romanian authorities takes care about feeding the pigs. The general secretary of ANSA from Romania says there are two solutions: either the economy agent should take the pigs back, either those should arrive in Moldova.
"As far as I know, there are many possibilities, only the Moldovan authorities should approve one of them", added Stelian Caramitru, gerenal director of ANSA.
"We have always been opened to discussions. But, there are some veterinary rules that should be respected. We will guide our decision by those rules", said Gheorghe Gaberi, ANSA general director.
The animals should have arrived in Moldova a few days ago, but those were stopped by Moldovan custom post office, because of some irregularities of the acts. The driver of the truck that was exporting the pigs wanted to return in Romania, but the authorities forbidden it, because of the swine fever alert at the border. Thus, the animals remained blocked. At the moment, there are four outbreaks of swine fever in Moldova.
