Podarilov remains in custody

The Court of Appeal rejected the claim submitted by the defending attorneys of CCHT deputy-head.
Deputy-Head of the Center for Combating Human Trafficking, Iurie Podarilov, remains in preventive custody. The Court of Appeal rejected the lawyers' request to free the defendant.
Last Monday, Chisinau Court issued an arrest warrant for 30 days on his behalf.
Podarilov in complicity with a subordinate extorted 30,000 euros to cease a criminal case.
The suspects accepted the first tranche of 10,000 euros.
If found guilty the defendants will be sentenced up to 15 years in prison and a fine of about half a million lei will be applied.
