Trolleybuses driving through Chisinau are not safe enough. Last night, the policemen checked the public transport and discovered that some were damaged by the lighting system and the tires were worn out. Some employees of the Trolleybus Park no. 2 were fined and did not go out on the line.
A trolleybus driver on line 20 knew the tires were old but said he did not change them because he did not have any better ones: "These tires were changed once and as long as we circulated, they wore again. We know, after the regulation we have no right to go on the route, but we have no other exit. "
The same problem was recorded in a trolley on Route 4.
Problems have also been detected in the lighting system. One driver was getting out on the line without bulbs at the trolley. The policemen forced him to change them and fined him.
"The most important, the lights in the front, the back, that is, yes, obviously you change them, but this is a system that they need to be exchanged together, they are in series, I checked, but of them, two do not work" , said the trolleybus driver.
Employees of the Municipal Police Department checked around 70 trolleybuses of the Park No. 2 in the Botanica sector. Seven drivers were fined up to 600 lei, and five of them were not allowed to go out.
"A record was drawn up to a person with responsibility who admitted the trip to the trolleybus route. He was elected with a fine of up to three thousand lei," said Natalia Stati, a press officer, the Capital Police.
"The operation that is taking place is a welcome one. Those shortcomings that have been detected will of course be eliminated, and we will do everything we can to prepare the trolleybuses in line with the established requirements," Emilian Bostan, director of the Trolleybus Park .2.
By the end of the week, checks will be made at the other trolleybuses in the city.
