Deputies who left the meeting room before the vote of introduction of the European integration goal into the Constitution missed a historical chance in the Parliament and demonstrated that they don't care about citizens' problems. The statements were made by several political analysts and journalists. According to experts, the elected people have shown pride and party selfishness, and what has happened today is a sad event for Moldova.
"As Mr Candu said, they have turned their backs on the European integration goal. We must say that this European integration objective was not for Brussels or for other capitals, it was for the Republic of Moldova", said journalist Victor Nichitus.
Experts also told Publika TV that the 13 deputies who are in fact pro-European, did not pass the political maturity exam.
"It is regrettable that some pro-European parties have been driven by narrow interests and have not acted on this initiative, perhaps two factors have been exposed here: those who oppose, starting with the president, the left-wing parties, especially the Party of Socialists , even welcomed this failure, which is not in favor of the Republic of Moldova", said Deputy Director of the Institute of Political Research of the ASM, Victor Juc.
"Unfortunately, we have seen the ambitions, the pride of the right-wing political leaders, and again, we have seen only party selfishness." "It is an attempt to disclaim responsibility," said journalist , Valeriu Renita.
According to political analyst Anatol Taranu, the parties that declared themselves pro-European and did not vote for the initiative will be charged by the citizens.
"The fact that this phrase has not been voted by the European opposition parties disfavors these parties and we now stand before a question: But who supports the pro-European option in the Republic of Moldova? On the one hand they can not plead against the European course , and on the other hand will be asked by voters: Why are you now supporting the European cause when you had the opportunity in Parliament to vote for this?", said political analyst Anatolie Taranu.
