Political bloc ACUM has collapsed: PAS faction breaks up with DA faction
The ACUM bloc has announced to break into DA and PAS factions. Andrei Nastase will be the president of the PPDA parliamentary faction, and Maia Sandu will lead the PAS deputies.
The announcement was made at a press conference held by the leaders of the Electoral Bloc ACUM joint by PAS and DA parties.
Moreover, leaders of two parties have proposed important positions in the state. Maia Sandu suggested Andrei Nastase as President of Parliament, and the PPDA leader proposed that Sandu would head the government.
According to the sources from DA party, Nastase is angry with Sandu because she had been working on the document for a long time behind his back.
At the last minutes, DA party delegated the party's deputy, Alexandru Slusari, to coordinate the content of the agreement.
One point of the document disturbed Andrei Nastase very much. It stipulated that PAS and DA will join in the local elections. Moreover, Maia Sandu will reserve the right to nominate the candidate for Chisinau's City Hall, the position targeted by Nastase.
Andrei Nastase said he couldn't sign the document without the consent of the National Council of his party. Finally, after continuous quarrels, the two came to the agreement that the document would be signed on Tuesday.
