Popsoi: Electoral block created by PAS and PPDA will break up after the Parliamentary elections and will split into separate factions
They are interested, especially when the deputy seats are in play. The electoral block created by PAS and PPDA will be closed immediately after the Parliamentary elections and will be divided into separate factions. The confession was made by the Vice-President of the PAS, Mihai Popsoi, in a program from a private television station.
In a debate attended by the leader of the Liberal Party, Dorin Chirtoaca, candidate in constituency 32 in Chisinau Mihai Popsoi, asked whether parties PAS and PPDA, forming a block, will continue to operate as a single political entity and after the Parliamentary elections. Popsoi made it clear that the parties would separate and divide the deputy seats.
"Possibly two fractions or even three separate fractions that is part of civil society and other parties. But certainly if we are in Government will be a coalition Government and even if we are in opposition, of course we will coordinate our activities", said Candidate from ACUM.
Neither PAS leader Maia Sandu does not value the maintenance of the electoral block. In an interview last month, Sandu said that keeping the block now counts less. Besides, in the formation agreement, it is stipulated in black that the block ACUM finishes its activity after the elections.
According to the document, the block breaks three days after the date of the confirmation of the Parliamentary elections by the Constitutional Court, if the leadership of the two parties will not make another decision.
Maia Sandu and Andrei Nastase reject the idea of forming a coalition in the next Parliament with other political parties and say they will go ahead if they do not get enough mandates. This, although 2016 showed that at least Andrei Nastase knows and can team up with the Socialists when he organized protests with Igor Dodon.
