In the first five days since the common emergency telephone number 112 was launched, it received 20 856 calls from all over Moldova. Still, 14 171, nearly 68% of them were prank calls.

According to the law, people calling specialized services without a reason will be punished with a fine to 1 500 lei, or 40 to 60 hours of unpaid community service.
