Premier Pavel Filip awarded medals to heroes who fought in the Nistru war in Micăuţi village, Străşeni.
Pavel Filip thanked the 33 veterans for their courage and devotion and assured them that the authorities will take care of them through the social projects to be implemented.
"We're elaborating next plans to address other unresolved issued: free travel by public transports, indemnity increase from 100 lei to 500 lei," said Pavel Filip, prime minister.
Veterans say the distinction is an honor for them and they will wear it with pride.
"There were terrible days. 100 soldiers are taken care. We benefit once in three years in nursing homes, free transport in city".
Veterans have also paid tribute to their village comrades who have never returned from the battlefield. They laid flowers at the monument of Valeriu Slobozenco, the first fallen villager in the war.
Afterwards, Premier, who is also Democratic candidate in constituency no. 20, met with villagers and talked about important projects in 2019: two playgrounds for children, road repair in village. Over a million lei was allocated from state budget for this purpose.
"We have a mobile dentistry car. We can send it for a while, we will see what we can do. I always care for Straseni, I want to contribute to this district regardless of my position", said Pavel Filip, PDM candidate in constituency no.20, Straseni.
Constituency no. 20 includes 19 localities in Straseni district and 4 localities in Orhei district.
