President Igor Dodon had a video conference discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin. They addressed a wide range of topics related to the interaction between the two countries in the strategic partnership.
"We have noted with satisfaction the ever-increasing dynamics of bilateral relations despite the pandemic crisis. We have paid close attention to current issues. Thus, on October 1, the Moldovan-Russian Economic Forum will take place in teleconference format. On 2 October there will be the meeting of the Moldovan-Russian Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation in videoconference format.
We also discussed with the Russian President the evolution of the negotiations regarding Moldova obtaining the Russian loan worth 200 million euros.
At the same time, we addressed issues related to the signing of an agreement on social protection, providing humanitarian assistance from the Russian Federation for the purchase of 20 thousand tons of diesel for agricultural producers in Moldova. To this end, the Russian side is willing to offer 500 million rubles, and the first tranche could be transferred in the coming days.
Next, I reiterated the Moldovan side's interest in purchasing the Russian coronavirus vaccine, after it will pass all the testing stages and obtain the authorization of the World Health Organization.
In other news, I asked the leadership of the Russian Federation to allow Moldovan students, who study in Russia, to present themselves at the place of study. In this context, I addressed my Russian counterpart to examine the possibility of resuming air and rail traffic between our countries.
We agreed that a telephone conversation between the prime ministers of both states will take place as soon as possible".
