Prime minister Filip urges officials to be responsible in preparing for talks with IMF
A new agreement with the IMF means not only external funds, but also a strong signal to foreign investors that Moldova is stable and has good economic prospects. Prime Minister Pavel Filip has made the statement at today’s Cabinet sitting.
"We all remember the conditions we assumed the responsibility for the governance back in January. We have managed to stabilize the situation. Many projects have remained unfinished because of that crisis. The priority now is to unblock the external financing, which will allow us to resume the investment projects. We’ve talked the matter over with the U.S. ambassador, with the Delegation of the European Commission regarding securing an agreement with the IMF. My request is that all those involved in the talks should be responsible so that we should be efficiently from July 5 to 11 to get this negotiation," Premier Pavel Filip said.
