Prime Minister Pavel Filip today sent a congratulatory message to the Ukrainian people and Prime Minister Volodimir Groisman on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine.

The head of the government urged the Ukrainian people to welfare and peace, expressing their conviction that the Moldovan-Ukrainian relations will continue to develop in the interests of the citizens of both states.

"The traditional relations of friendship and good understanding between our peoples will continue to contribute to the consolidation of the partnership between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine", says the message signed by Pavel Filip.

Ukraine adopted the Declaration of Independence on August 24, 1991.
