Prime Minister Pavel Filip met the President of Romanian Senate, Calin Popescu-Tariceanu
The current topics on the Moldovan-Romanian agenda were discussed today in Bucharest during the meeting between Prime Minister Pavel Filip with the President of the Romanian Senate, Calin Popescu-Tariceanu.
The prime minister stressed that Romania remains a strategic partner and a true friend of the Republic of Moldova, as demonstrated by the constant support offered to our country in the realization of the economic and social projects.
The officials noted the dynamic political dialogue, developed in the spirit of the Strategic Partnership for European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, and the good cooperation between the Legislatures of both states, especially the work of the Inter-parliamentary Commission for European Integration. In this context, Pavel Filip expressed gratitude for the Romanian Parliament's support for the European path of our country, underlining that European integration remains a major objective of the Republic of Moldova.
Calin Popescu-Tariceanu showed interest in the evolutions of domestic politics in our country, mentioning the need to continue the reforms, including those aimed at implementing the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union. In this regard, the official stressed that Romania will pay more attention to the Republic of Moldova in the dialogue with the EU member states in the context of taking over the presidency of the Council of the European Union on January 1, 2019.
