The fruit and vegetables reaching the Moldovan markets during the cold period of the year are likely to get cheaper. The Free Trade Agreement between Turkey and Moldova is valid as of today.
"We expect lower prices for the season fruit and vegetables from Turkey, when we don’t have our local produce. No customs taxes will be imposed on those goods starting from next spring," said Economy Minister Octavian Calmîc.
The Free Trade Deal with Turkey provides for canceling the taxes on all industrial goods.
But quotas have been established for a series of produce aimed at protecting the Moldovan farmers and the inner market.
