More than a hundred elders in the village of Ermoclia, Stefan Voda rayon, were examined by five doctors in the capital, under the Health Care Program.
The patients say they were looking forward to the doctors. The only specialist passing the threshold of the medical office in the village offers consultations only twice a week, insufficient for a population of over four thousand people.
Vera Bulbuc is 60 years old and has many health problems. So visits to doctors have become a routine.
"I'm killing oncology, kidding my kidneys, my thyroid gland is operated with heart problems, I walk on the roads to doctors for 15. When we go to Chisinau we lose money on the road and we lose time," said retired Vera Balbuc.
The elders say that it is difficult for them to go to the District Hospital in Stefan Voda.
"It is very good that you are not on the road, you go away, no time, no money."
"Very well, this is a good thing that the doctors have come. We have been waiting for them for a long time and we are satisfied."
"Across the country there is an acute shortage of physicians, both family physicians and specialist doctors. Now receiving a doctor is by appointment, and sometimes the patient has to wait a week or two until the appointment comes," he said the head of the Stefan Voda Health Center, Mariana Haret.
Doctors say that most people examined need treatment.
"Patients examined so far are complicated and possibly complicated patients and their condition and condition. They need treatment in the complex," said cardiologist Oxana Zagnat.
"Patients with chronic pathologies are patients who require diabetes monitoring with hypertension," said nephrologist Romica Rusu.
More than two thousand elders from five raions of the country have been examined since May.
"We propose that these recommendations be made after the respective consultations of the doctors, followed by the treatments," said Nina Turcan, president of the PDM "Thesaurus of the Nation".
The Health Care Action was launched by the Democratic Party in partnership with the Ministry of Health.
