A presumed clairvoyant in the capital, aged 62, will look at the bank of accused for scam in particularly large proportions. According to prosecutors, the "witch" was denounced by a resident of Capital, her client and her daughter.
Investigations have shown that in the years 2014-2017, the accused and his daughter have promoted their extrasensory capabilities over the Internet, claiming they have miraculous healing powers, or that they can help people find happiness.
The interested persons were invited to the home of the accused, where by deception they were determined to pay 100 lei for a "first healing session". Subsequently, through specific psychological methods of manipulation, they acquired the victim's assets which, in case of refusal, threatened her with the death of the children or other serious consequences for her family.
The defendants have obtained from a woman goods worth over 380,000 lei. Moreover, being psychologically pressed by the blameless "removal of the negative aura", the victim has repeatedly borrowed large sums of money from the bank, but also from relatives, hiding the true destination of loan.
Currently, the defendant is in house arrest, and if she is found guilty, she is at risk from 8 to 15 years in prison, with the obligation to return the victim to illicit property.
Prosecutors, together with the Police Headquarters of the Capital, continue the prosecution of the defendant's daughter, who is announced in search, the file on her being disposed of in a separate procedure.
The Prosecutor's Office does not exclude that more people have suffered as a result of the convictions of the defendants, and therefore urges victims to address the law enforcement bodies.
