Pupils in 1250 schools start their new academic year on Monday. According to Education Ministry, around 35,000 children will enroll in the first class this year. 

Moreover, in 2019, Education Ministry decided that each of schools would decide their topics of discussion for the first time. 

Pupils will benefit four vacations. The first one will be during October 26 - November 3. Winter vacation will start from December 25 - January 8, 2020. Four-day holiday will be in March and Easter holiday will be during April 18 - 27, 2020. 

According to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the national testing for primary school students will be held from May 5 to 14, 2020. Graduates of the ninth grade will take exams in early summer, specifically between June 4 and 15, 2020, and next year's baccalaureate will be organized from June 2 to 19.
