Quarantine imposed on center for homeless people in Chisinau
A Chisinau center for homeless people has been quarantined and temporarily closed after a woman staying there contracted COVID-19. Other 56 people are not allowed to leave the facility for two weeks.
"All the people that the woman contacted with will be tested. I would like to mention that this woman didn't have contact with other homeless people. However, we are still monitoring rigorously everyone", said Tatiana Bucearschi, head of the Department of Social Assistance and Health.
Last week, two persons suspected to have COVID-19 were registered at Accommodation and orientation center for homeless persons but they tested negative for the virus.
The center then took strict protection measures in connection with the emergency situation.
Homeless people who come to the shelter are disinfected and receive new clean clothes.
