After a minor broadcasted on multiple mass media sources a video, where she claims to have been raped by six man and ignored by the police, the General Police Inspectorate comes forth with the following statement:

The General Police Inspectorate of Briceni posted on their Facebook page, on 18^th August this year, an announcement that a 14-year-old girl went missing on 11^th of August.

The young girl was found by the police of Calarasi region and returned to her parents on 21^st August. Later on, her mother wrote a complaint to the Magistracy of Briceni that the girl was kidnapped and raped.

The girl’s mother wrote in the request that her child was kidnapped by unknown men and taken to Edinet, where she was raped, afterwards she was taken to Ungheni, where she spend the night at a man’s house that she met in the city’s stadium. On the second day the girl was found by the police in Calarasi, after she left Pitusca village.

The interview given to online press turned out to be a hoax. After the minor was questioned by the Magistrate in the presence of a Phycologist, the girl stated that she run away on her own free will, but lied in fear of being punished by her mother.

Therefore, the teenage girl admitted to have been raped by a 31-year-old man in Ungheni. The man was identified and taken into custody for 72 hours, but he is not confessing.

The police continue to investigate this case.
