Over 260,000 Moldovans contacted travel agencies to spend holidays abroad last year, 15 percent increase compared with data in 2017. According to experts, Moldovans are attracted by the agencies' offers and services. 
Turkey was the most visited destination with roughly 100,000 visitors. 
Over 60,000 Moldovans preferred Bulgaria and around 30,000 our countrymen visited in Romania via travel agencies. 
Egypt, Greece and Ukraine are among the top tourist destinations.
According to the statistics, the number of Moldovans travelling via agencies has increased by almost 50% in the past three years. Economic experts explain this is because of attractive price of service, improved standard of living and steady rise of income.
The statistical data show that last year, Moldovans who traveled abroad paid around 6 billion lei for their holiday and other services. The amount is almost one billion more than in 2017.
