Recommendations of Law Enforcement to ensure a safe holiday
Thousands of police officers will be on duty throughout the holidays to ensure public safety.
General Police Inspectorate recommend citizens to:
- Be cautious with your possessions in crowded places;
- Do not leave children unsupervised;
- Always try to avoid conflicts and do not respond to provocations with violence;
- If you became a victim, or saw a crime, immediately call 112 and request help.
To protect your house and car:
- When leaving the residence, ensure that all windows and doors are locked;
- Never announce your intention to leave on social media. Details of the trip should not be shared.
People who decided to travel are recommended to:
- Make sure that the car has no faults! Establish the route and all possible stops beforehand, including places to stay overnight.
- If the trip is long, ensure that the vehicle is properly equipped.
- Whenever faults are discovered, take all measures to eliminate them.
- Never leave the keys in the car, truck or the glove compartment.
- Pedestrians are urged to be cautious when crossing the street and to always avoid it when the visibility is reduced.
