REFORM RESULTS: More than three million lei managed to save Capital after the specialization of judges
More than three million lei managed to save Capital after the specialization of the courts. The figures were submitted by Radu Ţurcanu, the Chisinau district court chairman, who says that for two months, since the reform was initiated, the files are being examined more operative.
On the country, calculations in this sense have not been done yet, says the president of the Superior Council of Magistracy. Victor Micu stressed that the process of optimizing judges and magistrates continues. The subject was discussed at the General Assembly of the Judges, which took place in Chisinau.
"As a matter of fact, as a budget, there are many savings, over to say a figure, more than 3 million economies that are. Of course, some of the expenses related to servicing the premises, as infrastructure and absolute purchase", said Radu Turcanu, President of the Chisinau Court.
For two months, the Chisinau Court, based in Buiucani, manages only the criminal cases, the Centru center examines only the civil cases, the Chisinau Botanica Court examines the cases of insolvency, and the one in Râşcani deals with the administrative files. According to Radu Turcanu, these changes have brought considerable improvements for the citizens.
"With the specialization of the headquarters we have fewer censured decisions, better motivated decisions of Chisinau courts and of course judges specialize in these areas having the possibility to discuss among themselves on certain subjects", said the president of the Chisinau Court, Radu Turcanu.
And this magistrate in Orhei claims that the effects of the specialization are visible.
"Indeed, it is a good thing, they were former prosecutors who work, who already have a long working life. They have worked in the criminal field, criminal proceedings and now they are much easier than the other non-prosecutors", said the judge, Iurie Movila.
Judges say reforms in the system should continue.
"The best reforms have been made, just read the legislation that has been amended, which is about promotion, the selection of judges, something perfect", said the judge, Sandu Alexandru.
At today's meeting, the SCM president held a wide-ranging speech on the successes of the judges, but he did not hesitate to give a thumbs-up to magistrates who would be unsatisfactory.
"There have been cases when people were receiving, I do not want to believe that was so, but then it was found that the judge seems to be at home, has a behavior that is not good. I want to tell you that the Council will not tolerate the fact", said SCM chairman, Victor Micu.
And the Justice Minister says there is always room for improvement.
"I am deeply convinced that justice will be more credible if people are more meaningful and provide timely solutions to the problems they face", said Justice Minister Victoria Iftodi.
The General Assembly of the Judges gathered 320 magistrates from all the headquarters in the country.
