Relation between businessman Veaceslav Platon and Mihail Gofman comes to light
The relation between the businessman Veaceslav Platon and the former deputy chief of Money laundering prevention and control service from CNA, Mihail Gofman, of which the media wrote that it is Platon’s project, is starting to get out.
The legal company from the United States of America, which is representing the interests of Gofman, has requested today, through a letter sent to Ukrainian authorities, to not extradite Platon in Moldova, for the reason that he has to be investigated by American authorities in another case.
The embassy of United States to Moldova has declared that it is not informed if there are investigations in which Veaceslav Platon is involved. Regarding the American legal company, analysts declared that it was hired by the fugitives Victor and Viorel Topa in order to help Gofman to get out from an eventual sentence in the Banca de Economii fraud case.
PUBLIKA.MD reminds that Veaceslav Platon, also called as No.1 raider in ISC, was detained yesterday evening in Kyiv. The General Prosecutor’s Office has announced that it was informed about this operation through Interpol, and shortly the extradition procedure will be started. The authorities have confirmed, with reference to the information from colleagues from Kyiv, that Platon had a fake Ukrainian passport.
