Republic of Moldova and Serbia will sign an agreement on mutual promotion and protection of investments
Republic of Moldova and Republic of Serbia will sign in the near future an agreement on mutual promotion and protection of investments. Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic agreed today. According to the both countries' Prime Ministers, this agreement will help boost investment and trade. The meeting between the heads of the two governments took place in the margins of the meeting of the Basic Group of the Munich Security Conference.
The sides also expressed their interests in setting up joint ventures and the participation of business representatives in economic activities in the Republic of Moldova and Serbia. It has been agreed to intensify the cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries.
Among other priority areas of cooperation were police cooperation in the field of education, science and innovation. At present, 14 bilateral documents are signed between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Serbia, providing for cooperation on the defense, mutual assistance in the customs field, fight against organized crime and money laundering.
The officials also exchanged views on developments in the Transnistrian and Kosovo conflict settlement, expressing mutual support for the territorial integrity of the two states.
