Republic of Moldova increasingly attractive to foreigners
The number of immigrants settled in our country increased last year, compared to 2018. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in 2019 almost 4,900 people immigrated to Moldova, with over 600 more than in 2018.
The data also show that most foreigners come here either to work or to study or start a family.
According to statistics, most immigrants come from Ukraine (over 900 people). 760 people come from Turkey. 740 Russian citizens choose Moldova as their destination country. Over 450 Romanian citizens also opted Moldova as their country of residence.
Most immigrants arrive in Moldova to work: almost 1900 in total. More than 1,600 people came to start or reunite their families. At the same time, about 650 immigrants said they came here to study.
