For the first time in the past six years, Republic of Moldova registered zero inflation rate in May. Therefore, prices have remained similar to those from April.
The data was presented by National Bureau of Statistics. The institutions announced that the zero inflation rate was influenced by the decreased prices for food products.
For example, compared to April, prices for berries decreased by over 39%, while chicken eggs by 18.4%. The price of exotic fruits decreased by over 4%, while fresh vegetables became by 3% cheaper.
Data also shows that vegetable oil can be purchased by 2% cheaper. Prices also decreased for dairy products.
At the same time, the monthly bills for childcare and kindergartens decreased on average by 2%.
