RESPONSE of mayor accused of failing company taken over by raider Veaceslav Platon
The mayor of Drepcăuţi village from the northern district of Briceni, Ghenadie Ioxa, rejects the accusations of having busted the farming enterprise Drebozaci, so that it got to CIS number one raider Veaceslav Platon.
"All the legal charges against me are false. There is a verdict issued by the Bălţi Court of Appeal concerning power abuse in Drepcăuţi. It is final and may not be sued," Ghenadie Ioxa said.
The farm from Drepcăuţi was founded in 2011 by an Ukrainian businessman, who invested millions of dollars.
Last week, its managers and some employees, at a news conference, accused CIS number one raider Veaceslav Platon, and people close to him, of striping them from their business.
More exactly, in 2015, using intermediaries, Platon asked the firm to give him 900 ha of land.
The blogger Veaceslav Balacci, who investigated and brought details to daylight, maintains Platon had pursued to take over the business and to shatter the social-economic situation in Moldova.
