Approximately 70 percent of the country's roads are in deplorable condition and over-exploited. This was announced by the leadership of the Ministry of Economy at the hearings organized by the parliamentary commission.
"In the absence of financial sources for the rehabilitation of roads, especially for the regional roads, we apply such a reactive method: we rehabilitate after it gets broken", said Anatol Usatîi, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy.
Deputies also addressed the issue of non-performance in time and according to the standards of the works financed from external funds.
"The road that connects the capital with Giurgiulesti passes a lot of heavy-duty vehicles, I think there is the biggest traffic there, the problematic part is Ciumai - Vulcanesti, there are 20 kilometers of road where it is impossible to circulate," said Corneliu Dudnic , deputy PDM.
The authorities argue that, out of 16 national road rehabilitation contracts, six have already been terminated. On the other hand, according to the Government's plans, the rehabilitation of Chisinau - Ungheni and Balti - Sculeni roads will be completed this year. Starting with May, the first works will begin under the "Good Roads for Moldova" Program.
"We at the central level provided a platform for communication with the local public administration of first and second level, it was decided that it should be a batch or a contract for a whole district, in this case the contractor would not have the possibility to: we are doing here or doing here. It is safe for all, "said Anatol Usatîi, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy.
The program, announced by PDM leader Vlad Plahotniuc, provides for the rehabilitation of about 1200 km of local roads. The total amount of investments will be 1.6 billion lei, money allocated from the Road Fund and the state budget. The project was announced by PDM leader Vlad Plahotniuc.
