Romania to manufacture Airbus choppers. France's Hollande will attend plant inauguration
Romanian Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos and French President Francois Hollande should inaugurate the Airbus helicopter factory in Ghimbav, Brasov county, next week.
The plant has been completed before the deadline, and the French company is now waiting for Hollande’s visit to inaugurate the factory. Francois Hollande is expected to visit Romania on September 12-13.
The Romanian state has awarded a EUR 5.4 million state help to Airbus Helicopters Industries for the EUR 15 million investment near Brasov. The first H215 helicopter will be manufactured in Romania next year.
The plant’s development will end in 2020, when the factory will reach the capacity of 15 helicopters per year.
The Romanian companies IAR, Aerostar, Aeroteh, and Turbomecanica will take part in developing the H215 project, which has both a military and civil component, Romania Insider writes.
