The Romanian company Transgaz filed an application for participation in the privatization of Vestmoldtransgaz. The organization is the operator of the Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline, commissioned in 2014.
The Public Property Agency sold the Vestmoldtransgaz for 180 million lei - the equivalent of 8.8 million dollars. The condition is that the future owner will invest 93 million euros in the next 2 years.
The amount is similar to that needed to prolong the gas pipeline from Ungheni to Chisinau. The pipeline will have a length of 120 kilometers and will be able to transport annually 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas from Romania to Moldova.
