Romanian company OMV Petrom, interested in the natural gas delivery to the Republic of Moldova
The Romanian company OMV Petrom is interested in the natural gas delivery to the Republic of Moldova. Statements were made by the director of the company, Radu-Sorin Caprau, during a meeting with Chiril Gaburici, Minister of Economy of Chisinau.
This is possible due to the construction of the Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline.
According to the minister, the aim of the authorities is to ensure competitiveness in this sector, so that the price of gas drops. In turn, OMV Petrom appreciates the opening of the Chisinau government towards the business environment.
The Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline was put into operation in 2014, and until the end of the year, Transgaz has pledged to extend the pipeline to Chisinau. The total cost of the works is valued at 105 million euros, the EBRD, the European Investment Bank and the European Commission.
OMV Petrom is the company with the largest sales of fuels and gases in Romania. In 2017 it had a turnover of over four billion euros. The company has 81 petrol stations on the territory of our country.
