Romania's ANAF deputy chairman: The customs authority must become the main actor in the security of the EU borders
The customs authority in Romania must become the main actor in the domain of border security of the EU, stated Dorel Fronea, the vice chairman of the National Authority for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) in Brussels, in the framework of the session in the plenary of the World Organisation of Customs.
Transborderly cooperation and the development of the institutional dialogue with the business environment represents the main factor in combatting illicit traffic at the borders.
The customs authority in Romania must become the main actor in the domain of border security for the EU and the protection of the financial interests of the EU in this part of Europe’ Dorel Fronea said, quoted in a press release of the institution.
In the period 14-16 July 2016 there were in Brussels the works of the plenary of the world organisation of customs, intergovernmental independent body whose main mission aims at the increase of the customs efficiency.
On this occasion, the Joint Administrative Agreement regarding the Pilot Project for the development of commercial lines which aim at the intensification of the information exchange between the customs offices placed in harbours with a high volume of activity, with benefits especially for the accomplishment of the customs formalities for authorised economic agents.
