Australians got together in various locations across the country on Saturday night to celebrate the royal wedding of Britain's Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle.

It was a mix of monarchists and a new generation whose interest in the royal family spiked due to the addition of Markle.

In Brisbane, the Queensland Young Monarchist League hosted the monarchist celebratory event in honour of the wedding, while many people, including Sydney resident Lisa De Lima, held royal themed celebrations for family and friends.
