Russia's, Moldova's presidents plan to meet next Monday
Russian President Vladimir Putin is planning to meet with his Moldovan counterpart, Igor Dodon, who will pay an official visit to Russia on January 16-17, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told TASS on Wednesday.
"Yes, such a meeting is planned," he said.
A diplomatic source in Chisinau earlier told TASS that Dodon will visit Russia on January 16-17 where he hopes to meet with the Russian president and senior officials of Russia’s Federal Assembly (parliament).
The presidential election won by leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon were held in Moldova in November. Dodon said that he would pay his first visit as the head of state to Moscow to initiate negotiations aimed at developing an agreement on strategic partnership with Russia, on friendship, economic cooperation and the Transnistrian settlement, TASS reports.
