A criminal group specialized in the drug dealing at Chisinau municipality, but also in other localities of the Republic of Moldova, was uncovered. The police have identified and detained 11 suspects aged 20-25. Two suspects have ages between 50 and 55 years.
Some members received ethnobotanic substances in large quantities and others distributed and packed them in small quantities in zip-lock packages weighing between 3-5 grams, and then distributed to sell them to street dealers. These, being in various public places, mostly near educational institutions in the capital and other districts of the country, daily sold 100 packages to consumers, mostly adolescents, at a price of 100 lei per package.
The supposed leader of the group is in prison, and people close to him have the role of storing the drugs, then put them in packs and forward them to the street dealers who put them on sale.
Among the people involved is a woman, but also a retired law enforcement officer.
Law enforcement officers conducted 15 searches, with about 200 ethno-botanical packets detected. The total amount of drugs raised is 3 kilograms.
At the same time, slashes, packaging and other tools for packing drugs have been lifted as a result. Also, mobile phones, SIM cards, computers, over 300,000 lei and drafts have been found.
If they will be found guilty, suspects risk from 7 to 15 years in prison.
