They showed that deafness is not an obstacle to realize their dream. More children with hearing deficiencies attended the international choreography festival. The event is organized by the Deaf Association of Moldova and it is the first edition.
This is the beginning of the rehearsals of the Ghiocel dance group from Chisinau. Adolescents say they are full of emotions because they compete for the first time with their peers from other countries.
"Dance for me is physical, musical education. It brings joy and happiness".
"The leader shows them the tempo. Somewhere, behind the scenes, he does not see, but gives them clues. Children look very carefully at their leader and how they look like they do", said Ghenadie Lozovanu, artistic director.
Petru Rutcovschi for more than 25 years helps the children from the village of Hirbovat, Calarasi district, to feel the dance rhythm. He says it's very easy to work with them because they are careful and eager to learn new things.
"These children do not differ at all from the children who learn at basic schools. I also work with the children in the core schools, but I'm more than happy to work with them, because they want a big heart, they want to prove they can still do it", says Peter Rutcovsky, artistic director.
Seven artistic groups participated in the festival, including ensembles from Ukraine, Russia and Belarus.
"Emotions are indescribable, I really enjoyed it and would come to you if you invited us".
"We are simply shocked because such an organization as I have not seen here anywhere," said Natalia Keteli, Belarusian artistic director.
The "Dance" Festival has hitherto taken place only at national level, and this year it has been decided to expand it. The organizers say that through such events they try to support children with hearing deficiencies, giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their talents with others.
"To make them equal among the equal, among the healthy people, so that they do not feel discriminated, deprived of any rights," said Natalia Barbici, vice-president of ASRM.
More than two thousand children with hearing impairment are in the Republic of Moldova.
