SEVERE WEATHER causes havoc in Moldova

The severe rain and wind have caused havoc in Moldova last night, as many localities are powerless.
According to Emergency Service officials, 22 localities from nine districts -- Orhei, Teleneşti, Cantemir, Vulcăneşti, Leova, Ungheni, Sângerei and the Gagauz autonomy – remained without electricity.
The yellow code of wind issued by meteorologists for yesterday stay valid for today, reaching in places velocities of up to 70 km/h.
The severe rains are forecast to continue and floods are likely in lower localities.
The air temperature will drop to -1 in the northern part of Moldova, as it will colder down to the south, too.
The cool weather is not likely to impact the plantations.
