Siegfried Mureşan: We are willing to invest to ensure stability and good governance in Moldova
European Parliament might offer Moldova over 300 million Euro to continue the reforms. The declaration was made by Romanian MEP Siegfried Mureșan, during a press conference held in Chisinau with head of the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs delegation, Laima Andrikiene.
"We are willing to invest in the Eastern neighbors of the European Union to ensure stability and good governance in Republic of Moldova. We expect to invest in Republic of Moldova between 284 and 348 million Euro during 2017 - 2020. It also depend on Republic of Moldova's capability to absorb those funds" head of Committee on Budgets delegation, Siegfried Mureşan said.
"We clearly stated our wish to support Moldova in implementing the Association Agreement. Progresses were made in certain fields. You have many partners at the European Parliament and it favors the Eastern Partnership. We believe your country to be among the leaders" Laima Liucija Andrikienė declared.
Head of the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs delegation also announced that lately, Moldova achieved improvement in terms of the Transnistria conflict. The MEP reiterated that EU laws support Moldova's sovereignty and integrity. During the visit, the two MEPs have met with various officials. The results will be published in a report.
