It’s silence day in Gagauzia – an area in the south of Moldlova – as elections for the regional parliament are due tomorrow. That means that any electioneering is prohibited.
Electing new members for the local parliament will cost the regional budget 2 million lei ($100,000.)
66 polling stations have been opened and over 120,000 ballots have been printed.
126 candidates run for the seats, 75 % of which are independent and the rest of them represent political parties.
